|National Mod Inverness 2014|
Just a wee note to say what an Inverness Mod we all had. Certainly one that will go down as one of the memorable ones for Mull. The Hotel and their staff was great and so central, the venues were fantastic. Great food and most of all great Company and craic. It all started on Monday when our little ones all sang their wee hearts out resulting in a first for Rona's wee choir, 2nd for Janet's Kilchoan Choir, 3rd for Nina and Holly in the Duets, a Gold a Silver and Bronze for Shannon MacLean (all in a days work for Shannon.) Prizes or not we are very very proud of all our little competitors.
Donna and Moira in the Silver Medal competition. Well done Moira for making the brave decision to enter the competition. Quite an achievement ! You sang beautifully. Huge congrats to Donna who won all qualifying events and was a well deserved Silver Pendant winner. Well done to Donna and Natalie for coming 4th in the duets. Well done to Kirsty Mackinnon for getting through to the finals of the Trad Gold Medal.
Thursday saw the Mull ladies getting a second in their competition, with the highest music marks. Then the mixed choir won their competition with the highest music and 1st equal in Gaelic. Another Muileach was the male recipient of the Silver Pendant. Iain Hector MacKechnie of Loch Aline.
I am sure I will have forgotten someone but apologies if I have. Big thanks to Elizabeth and Janet for their patience, their commitment and their faith in us. We hope we did you proud. Thanks Donna for keeping us organised and also thanks to Riona and Janet for all the work they do with our young people.
I would like to thank everyone who "looked "after me" over the last few days. You make my life so much easier by being aware of the obstacles that can cause me hassle. I really appreciate all your thoughtfulness. A special thanks to my Chauffeurs - Jack and Victor - the craic was great!!!
